Lalu ajak dia tersenyum,

Kalau bisa bahkan tertawa...

Tak ada saat yang lebih indah dari, saat kita bisa tersenyum,

Tertawa, bahkan menangis bersama, dan kita

Menyadari bahwa kita tak sendiri

Ku torehkan kuas di atas kanvas

Kanvas putih suci berlumur darah

Tadi sore, terlihat johan pahlawan

Memberi pita hitam mereka

Pita tanda kematian

Tanda kehidupan abadi 

Tersimpuh melihat terang bulan

Menendangnya menjadi gelap gulita

Nyamuk-nyamuk berterbangan

di penghujug belenggu duka

Menyongsong petang yang telah datang

Di peraduannya 

Di tempat ini kita menggantungkan harapan

Di tempat ini kita merasakan akhir

yang merupakan sebuah awal

Akhir kefanaan dan awal kekekalan

A Step

Hitam Putih Dunia 

Tetapi tidak sehitam dan seputih kehidupan kita 

Asap-asap menerpa lembut nafas-nafas yang menyesakkan 

Dengan zat-zat CO₂ nya 

Debu-debu menemani langkah kita 

Terik mentari adalah sahabat kita 

Hujan tempat kita menumpahkan segala kehampaan 

Dan angin yang menerbangkan harapan kita 

Disini kita hidup, disini kita merasa kan sesuap impian

Apakah kau yakin disini juga kita akan merenggang nyawa, Sobat ? 

Malam ini di bawah langit berkerudung hitam ini kita beristirahat

Tapi kita harus percaya bahwa ini bukan peristirahatan terakhir kita

Percaya lah Tuhan tidak akan pernah menutup matanya 

Dan esok kita akan menyambut fajar bersama. 

Esok dengan harapan dan impian yang nyata.
